And a lot of it seems to be saying, “Why in the world does some crazy like Glenn Beck have this much influence in the U.S. consciousness?” And I’m like, “Maybe because nobody will shut up about him.” I admit the guy’s got some good qualities, like caring A LOT about the country and having a way of entertaining that lots of folks seem to love (though, personally, I find him stressful to watch), so there’s that. And I admit he’s got some bad tactics, like using things as sacred as human emotion and Christian beliefs to make money and gain influence. In short, there’s a lot going on with him.

But is he really this interesting? Really? Because I’m Mormon, and my husband has a man-crush on Beck, and I live in one uber-patriotic town, and Fox News is on for hours a day at our house — and even I don’t find him this interesting.
